I thought it might be fun to post about my past weekend!
I took a bunch of photos on my iPhone to document, since I have yet to replace my point-and-shoot from a year ago when it broke, and lugging my pro cam around just isn’t very ideal.
But first! How weird, that today at lunch, I got this fortune

because just yesterday i was reading this great article about how to price your photography! Random, right?! Well anyways, I thought it was weird.
Ok, onto the weekend!
Friday night started off with a bang! Our President at work took our whole team out for bowling, pizza, and drinks
So we only had to work a half day, and got an early start to the weekend! Man, I love my day job sometimes! There’s nothing like getting off a little early after a crazy busy and productive week, sure makes you feel good!

Before our photo shoot on Saturday morning, we stopped for some pumpkin spice lattes! (all of these photos were taken by my friend Tonja’s daughter, Madi- photos to come soon!)

Another fun thing we did this weekend was go to this AMAZING restaurant- Por Que No?
I can’t believe I’d never been there! The food was absolutely amazing, and I fell in love before I even ordered! The entire restaurant is colorful, vibrant, and full of life! I couldn’t help but snap away with my little phone! They even had delicious fresh juices– mark and i had guava coconut! YUMMY!

SO yummy! It’s definitely on our faves list now! Mark had been talking about the place for a while, and he ended up going with our friends Chauncey and Jonelle a few nights prior- it’s one of their favorite spots as well, so they were excited to show Mark the ways of the place
Mark and I also got our photos back that we had done from Kevin Russ, THEY ARE AMAZING!!!!
I am so in love with them, I almost cried when I saw them… he is the BEST! I’ll do a post about them soon so you can all see
And of course, a trip to Trader Joe’s! I love love love that store! Not only do they carry delicious foods for super low prices, their packaging is ADORABLE! I literally buy things from there just because I like the box! Maybe it’s the graphic designer in me, but they get me every time!!! Prime example:

Also- the Steelcut Oatmeal (get it in the frozen section!) is my new fave breakfast!!! Why doesn’t all oatmeal taste this good?!!? SO delicious!
and one of my baby, just because he’s too cute for his own good!

2 blogposts in 2 days, man i’m on a roll!

Oh, October. I love you.
It’s been a while since I’ve posted, that is partially due to lack of time, and partially to the internal debate of what to post.
I keep arguing with myself over what should and what shouldn’t be included in this blog. Part of me wants to use this as a blog to track my daily happenings, as well as my professional work, while the other part thinks I should keep it strictly business. I find myself contemplating this often, and not posting because of it. However, I have decided that all of my favorite blogs include personal posts, and therefore, mine will too. I want my readers to get to know me, not only as a photographer, but also as a person. I think it will be more entertaining also, as I have some fun/funny stories on occasion that I would love to share!
I ventured out to the Pumpkin Patch with my cousins, and their kids recently. I forgot how many different activities and fun things there are to do at the patch!!! A mini train to ride, hay mazes, corn on the cobb, elephant ears, a mini petting zoo, corn maze, a huge haystack, a flower garden, and of course– PUMPKINS!
I don’t remember any annual pumpkin-getting traditions from when I was a kid… this could be because I was too little to remember… I think we just went to random patches each year… I do remember one year, riding on a hay ride pulled by a tractor… could have been a school feild trip? I remember one year though, we went out to this HUGE field, and it was cold and rainy, and muddy all over, and my dad had a wheelbarrow for us to put our chosen pumpkins in. I believe there is a photo of this trip somewhere at my dad’s house… I should find that… Anyways, it was super fun
It makes me wonder if these kids will remember these trips in years to come. Good thing I’m around to capture the memories for them
Some of my favorites from the day
and a video at the end!

Here’s a video of all of us trying to get the kids to pose for a shot: exhibit one why I prefer being a “photo-journalistic” photographer, ha! So much more natural… but we got it eventually…
Here is the final shot:

What are you going to be for Halloween?! I still have to get some good pics of Quincey in his costume to post on here! Haha, oh, and for those of you who don’t know, Halloween is Quincey’s birthday! He’ll be two this year
I can hardly believe it!!! He will always remain my baby though <3
I think mark and I have figured our costumes out… (yes, we may actually dress up this year!! I know!?) We’ll see…..
until later <3

I decided to make a list of everything I adore about this season
I’m still working on editing photos from our pumpkin patch shoot, and the shoot for Kelsie’s party… so until I finish, I hope this entry will suffice
I found the neatest little link to this word generator. For a list-making-freak like myself, this brought a whole new light to my world. Now my lists can actually be cute!?! Who knew!!!
I was tipped off by Melissa, the lovely bride in the vintage wedding photos in my previous post.

What are some of your favorite things about fall?
